Bucher Emhart Glass provides glassmakers with support services to aid in the design, production and quality control of glass containers.

Mold Equipment Drawing Set

A full package of mold equipment drawings will be developed, for one particular container, considering all the technical specified parameters and the following modules:

  • Accessory Selection
  • Mold Cooling Analysis
  • Forming Simulation

Accessory Selection

Bucher Emhart Glass specifies the best Mould Design Interface, in order to optimise clamping force and cooling through recommendation of the required Mould and Blank accessories.


Blank Mold Cooling Analysis

The Service provided covers VertiFlow and InVertiFlow for the blank side cooling.

The support provides predictive temperature profiles which can be expected under Production conditions whether for present production conditions or future planned designs.

The program runs on both processes BB and NNPB.

From the Customer we require the following key information;

  • Mould Design Date in 3D showing cooling patterns
  • Mould Material
  • Forming Timing Data
  • Blank Cooling air Data with air pressure in mmWG

Blow Mold Cooling Analysis

The temperature distribution on the blow mold determines the stability of the final formed container.

TekPak quantifies the blow side VertiFlow cooling system, and gives the capability to analyse the blow mold temperature distribution.

Depending on the results, Emhart Glass gives advices on how to reach a more optimal temperature distribution for a specific container.

From the Customer we require the following key information;

  • Mold Design Date in 3D showing cooling patterns
  • Forming Timing Data
  • Blank Booling air data with air pressure in mmWG

Cavity Design

Emhart will facilitate the design of blank cavities either for new containers or improvements on existing bottle designs which have quality related issues i.e.- glass wall thickness.

Optimising the Glass wall thickness will be a key focus area. 

Container Producibility Analysis

Virtual prototyping of the container design prior to trials on the forming machine reduces the number of expensive and time consuming developments.

The analysis can provide the ability to consider or review customers design requirements.

Opportunity to evaluate existing designs or current glass production against an analysis tool which may predict glass performance.
